Pubs across the Lower Hunter hosted the game on the only day of the year that it’s legal to play, with hundreds passing through the doors to watch the coins spin through the air.
The Imperial on High Street was one such local watering hole with a pack of punters all trying their luck.
With pink, blue, red and gold notes in one hand, and usually a glass of beer in the other, a solid and enthusiastic crowd let rip at keeping the Anzac Day tradition rolling on.
It came after a busy morning for Maitland, with services held at Maitland Park, East Maitland and Morpeth.
