Wine country is about to launch its biggest series of events for the year in the themed, two-month long Hunter Valley Wine and Food Festival over May and June.

More than 25 wineries will participate, featuring more than 40 individual events right across the two months.
Aside from the annual major attractions such as the Lovedale Long Lunch and the Annual Food fight featuring some of the Hunter’s finest chefs, there’s a wide range of more intimate experiences with an additional 15 events added to the program this year.
“There’s something for everyone … it’s a terrific couple of months where the Hunter showcases its outstanding wine and food in a relaxed, fun atmosphere,” Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism general manager Jo Thomas said.
“Events range from the annual Legends dinner to such favourites as the Hunter Valley Wine Festival, Tyrrell’s Winemaker’s Luncheon, Meet the Farmer Dinner at Margan, Glandore Estate Burning of the Barrel and By the Fireside with Lisa McGuigan at Hunter Valley Resort.
“There are cooking classes and lots of experiences for food lovers too – and again, it’s all about enjoying it in a stress-free environment.”

Or a masterclass in how to make delicious gnocchi. Maybe a winter celebration of live music and wine with friends in Wollombi Valley is more your thing.
