Even though the worst of the fire season appears to be over, dry conditions are forecast to persist throughout autumn and winter.
The team at Maximus Rutherford urge rural property owners to consider diesel-powered fire pumps as a safer option in a bushfire emergency.

Masters says that diesel-drive versions of the Fire Chief are becoming more and more popular as consumers realise the safety aspects of operating a fire pump that runs on diesel fuel.

The Aussie Fire Chief delivers over 90 psi pressure and up to 450 litres per minute in flow.
“That’s the beauty of the Fire Chief. It simply delivers more water at pressure, making it really effective,” Masters said.
The core design of the product, i.e. it’s quality components and hydraulic design, is what delivers that higher performance.
The pump has a huge big belly body with 2” detachable suction port supplied as standard equipment.
That means more water is drawn into the pump than smaller 1 ½” inlet type units.
The diesel-powered pumps, with the advantage of low combustion fuel, come in a heavy duty galvanised roll frames for stability and ease of portability.
Maximus warns against relying on electric drive pumps that may be connected to household water tanks or swimming pools.
