Eight community groups and a primary school have been given a significant boost, sharing in more than $30,000 thanks to Tocal Field Days.

Event organisers handed over the money at its annual appreciation morning tea on Friday.
Tocal Field Days organiser Wendy Franklin said the nine groups – Paterson Bolwarra Scouts, Slow Food Hunter Valley, Tocal Homestead, Maitland Community Care, Vacy Public School, East Maitland Kiwanis Club,Woodville School of Arts, Maitland Lions Club and Newcastle Men’s Shed had made a contribution to the field days, which were held on May 4,5 and 6.
Newcastle Men’s Shed was given $11,600, Maitland Lions Club received $4000, Woodville School of Arts and East Maitland Kiwanis Club both received $3000, Slow Food Hunter Valley received $2500, Vacy Public School, Maitland Community Care and Tocal Homestead each received $2000, and Paterson Bolwarra Scouts was given $1000.
