The Griffins started the season in the D-grade Southern Conference but now sit on top of the C-grade ladder with a 34-4 win away to Dungog and the win against Glendale since winning promotion.

Five-eight Clinton Connors ensured the Griffins took full advantage of the gale, continually forcing Glendale off their own line. His goal-kicking was superb in incredibly difficult conditions landing four-from four in the first half and five overall.
Forwards Chad Irvine and Hayden Dimmock opened up the Glendale line with some powerful runs and the space was exploited by Easts backs led by fullback Greg Morris.
Aberglasslyn Ants jumped to second spot on the C-grade table, courtesy of a better points differential, with a 24-12 win against Swansea.
Dungog are still looking for their first win of the season after a narrow 38-36 loss to Awakabal.
Maitland United had their first win of the season with a 42-6 smashing of Wangi at Coronation Oval, in the D-grade Southern Conference, on Saturday.
Morpeth recorded their second win beating Hexham 32-10 and Abermain beat 32-24.
In the D-grade Northern Confernce, Paterson River continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 32-12 win in the local derby against Hinton at Paterson Sportsground on Saturday.
Lock Ryan Winkler was man of the match running in two tries and doing a power of work in defence.
Clarence Town front-rower Sam Dunn scored a hat-trick and Kurt Blowes a double as the Cobras ran out convincing 46-24 winners over Karuah.
Aberglasslyn remain unbeaten in Ladies League Tag A-grade accounting for Raymond Terrace 44-6. They lead the table from University. In LLT B-grade, Maitland United had an off-day and were 24-0 losers at home against Wangi.
