When she isn’t caring for family, including her very sick 28-year-old son, she is attending car shows and pageant quests to raise awareness of issues close to her heart.
In September, she will travel to Johannesburg, South Africa, to compete in the 2018 Mrs Australia International World contest.
Ms Turner said she was the only person signed up to represent Australia at the event.
Her contest platform is domestic violence, and she hopes to continue her work in raising awareness of the issue, locally and around the world.
“I want to help people worldwide,” she said.
Her daughter Sonny has followed in her footsteps, competing in similar pageants with a bullying platform.
There is one pageantry myth Ms Turner is keen to bust.
“People don’t realise the work that is behind what we do,” she said.
