Hunter Drama’s production team of directors, choreographers and musical directors will visit Maitland during their 2018 Hunter Drama on Tour road trip in July, to give young performers between the ages of nine and 18 years, the opportunity to step on stage as part of the Disney’s Aladdin JR. cast in their 2018 season.

Disney’s Aladdin JR. is based on the Academy Award-winning tale of the street rat that became a prince. Based on the iconic animated film, with an academy award-winning score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, Disney’s Aladdin JR. follows Aladdin who discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes.
Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With all of the well known characters and songs, this adaptation of the beloved story will open up a whole new world for audiences young and old.
Young people have been rehearsing for the last 8 weeks and will get the opportunity to perform along with 29 of their fellow cast members made up of an entirely local Maitland based youth cast.
Disney’s Aladdin JR. is a special 60 minute abridged version of the full length Broadway musical which has been reworked to suit young performers. Disney’s Aladdin JR. will be staged at the Maitland Town Hall on July 11 and 12, promising to be a popular family adventure to keep during the July School Holidays.
