That’s because Fitzpatrick’s birthday on July 6 was not only a special day for the teenager and his family and friends.
The whole NSW boxing fraternity celebrated as it means one of the state’s and Australia’s hottest young talents can now enter the ring in NSW.
Fitzpatrick has his first official fight in NSW on July 20 when he fights for the NSW title on the Detonation 12 card at Wests City.
Boxing trainer Ben Crampton is excited for his young charge, who has had to fight interstate previously to win a growing collection of national and state titles.
Fitzpatrick will have his training partner, WBF world Superlightweight champion Blake Minto, in action alongside him on the night.
Tables of 10 are available through Crampton’s gym at $200 a head including food and drinks.
