The competition was open to all camera clubs in Australia, with each club required to submit its best 20 images, with a maximum of two images from each individual photographer.
Two Maitland members gained individual awards including Julie Rathbone who won an APS Bronze Medal for her image Argument at the Waterhole and Alec Trusler's image Emerging Kingfisher which was a Judges’ Choice.
All members of the Maitland club were invited to submit images to a panel of four senior members who selected the top 20.
“The standard of images submitted was exceptional, giving the panel a hard job to choose the best,” Maitland Camera Club’s Geoff Patchett said.
The Maitland club beat many larger clubs including others in the Hunter such as Belmont 16s Photography Club and Wangi Workers Camera Club.
