Officers swooped on the Free Choice tobacconist in Lang Street, Kurri Kurri, at about 9am on Friday after a tip-off from the public.
Police seized 350g of a substance they allege is synthetic cannabis – though formal testing is expected to take about a fortnight to complete.
They also seized glass and water pipes, which they allege is drug paraphernalia, during the morning raid.
Police have not laid any charges in relation to the search.
