While it is sure to impress the biggest of car enthusiasts with an impressive range of colourful classic cars and bikes, the annual event’s return, next weekend will continue to make a difference long after the final engine has left.
All are invited to join the Lions club at Maitland Showground on Sunday, August 26, as they raise money for Lions 4 Kids in Need – a homegrown not-for-profit cause.
The program was a joint initiative set up by several Lions clubs in the area, helping families of very sick children living with 100km radius of John Hunter Hospital.

Through the program they provide things like fuel vouchers, baby food and other emergency items.
Event organiser Geoff Kilmurray said the group was working directly with John Hunter Hospital.
“We’ve always donated heaps of money to causes but there’s always been a bit of a gap on the north side of John Hunter,” he said.
“Sometimes both parents are working, or one can’t work.
“Through this program we’re happy to assist with a little bit of the payment to make life a bit easier.
“All the money we make through Motorfest, bar expenses, goes to charity.
“We’ll make sure it goes where it’s supposed to.
“This program is for these children and we’re working very closely with John Hunter Hospital.”
It isn’t too late to get involved – there is still time to register as a stall holder at $35 per site.
