The Aberglasslyn Ants Ladies League Tag team, Woodberry Warriors and East Maitland Griffins all have the first weekend off after claiming minor premierships.
But there will be a host of other teams from across Maitland in action in the semi-finals which will be held at Raymond Terrace’s Lakeside Complex on Friday night and and Saturday.
The Aberglasslyn Ants C-grade team takes part in finals in their first year of competition taking on Morisset in the elimination final on Saturday from 12.30pm.
If the Ants win they will progress to the minor semi-final against the loser of Saturday’s qualifying final between Windale and Swansea.
The winner plays East Maitland for a spot in the grand final.
Paterson River and Gloucester resume their incredibly close rivalry in the D-grade North Conference major semi-final on Friday night.
Only one two-point win by Gloucester separated the two teams at the top of the ladder and they will face off for a spot in the grand final.
The loser will play the winner of Friday night’s elimination final between Stroud and Hinton.
In the D-grade South Conference Kotara and Abermain meet in the major semi-final on Saturday.
The Hawks enter the finals in top form winning seven straight games including a 22-12 win against competition leaders Kotara in round 11.
After going through their first season without a win last year Maitland United make their finals debut in the D-grade elimination final against Cardiff Reserves.
The Ants LLT team will play for a spot in the grand final next week against the winner of the major semi-final between University and Dora Creek.
Woodberry Warriors will be hoping West Wallsend and Wallsend-Maryland have a tough encounter with the winner of that clash to face the Warriors for a grand final spot. All teams in the major semi-finals have a double chance.
