Royal Federal grabs Maitland netball A-grad finals spot in thriller

The composition of the Maitland netball A-grade top four came down to the final game in the final round and Branxton team Royal Federal Hotel prevailed with a thrilling 44-42 win against Maitland Carpet Court.

It was a must-win for both teams to progress to the semi-finals and Royal Federal now face Club Maitland City in next week’s opening round of the play-offs.

Minor premiers Hills Solicitors had the weekend off courtesy of a forfeit by Hinton Hotel and The George Tavern showed ominous form with a 72-30 win against MPBC with the Grayson sisters Karlee and Kelly-Ann both in action for The George.

Club Maitland City were 51-32 winners against Maitland Blacks Tolsaf Cranes 

The George and Hills will resume their great rivalry of the past four seasons next week with a spot in the grand final up for grabs.

The loser will play the winner of Club Maitland City and Royal Federal for the remaining spot in the grand final on September 22.
