“What’s brown and sticky?” the tattoo and coffee shop owner asked, replying after sufficient pause with “a stick”.
Ivy walked away with a beaming smile, testament to the success of another classic dad joke – appropriate with Father’s Day on Sunday.
Mr Bean has plenty more one-liners up his full sleeve tattoo and is inviting Maitland’s finest family comedians to The Cabin Collective’s Dad Joke Battle on Saturday, between noon and 4pm.
While comedy is a good enough reason for a party, the cause supported by the inaugural event is no laughing matter.
The day is about having fun and to raise funds and awareness for the Black Dog Institute, which aims to reduce stigmas around mental illness.
“As someone who has suffered a bit of depression, I wanted to lighten it up a little bit,” Mr Bean.
