The Blacks in conjunction with major sponsor Maitland Private Hospital held a fundraising day for Maitland riders taking part in the annual 1000Ks for Kids charity bike ride which starts today from Melaney in Queensland and finishes in Warners Bay on September 16.
The Blacks first grade team wore special jerseys and all grades took to the field on the day in black and gold socks, the charity’s colours.
The club’s supporters dug deep making donations, taking part in raffles and finished off proceedings with an auction of players jerseys in the Blacks game on the day against Hamilton.
Charity ride participants Luke Redgrave, Nicki Lempcke and Paul Brownlee said the support and generosity of the Blacks was incredible.
“We’ve got an ample supply of Aussie Butt cream and are ready to go,” Brownlee said.
