The Open Day will offer two sessions to chose from, either morning or afternoon and will enable children and parents to tour the school, see teaching in progress (morning session only) and meet the Head of the Junior School, Mrs Margaret Pond along with the Principal, Mr Darren Cox.
The school offers places from kindergarten through to year 4 and prides itself in providing a nurturing culture supported by state of the art facilities and an encouragement of collaborative and creative thinking.
Students are provided with a balanced learning program that embraces technology, promotes sport and movement and looks toward readying its students for the jobs of the future.
“Our facilities include a STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) lab, robotics and digital technology programs, personalised learning spaces, colourful spaces and even a slide from the first floor to the ground floor which the children love,” begins Darren Cox.
“It’s important to provide a supportive and caring environment for all students as well as ensuring that we prepare them for the workforce and roles that are more than likely, not invented as yet.
“We do that by teaching them how to collaborate and think critically,” he adds.
Margaret Pond has been with the Junior School since 2006 and is proud of the way students and teachers have developed over the years.
“I really do love this school and all that it continues to bring to its students.
“We never stand still, so our students are always given the best opportunities to grow and explore and of course have lots of fun,” she commented.
From an array of lunch clubs covering technology, sport, gymnastics and just about everything in between, there’s something to engage everyone at St Philips.
And with its 103 acres there’s more than enough room for kids to let off steam and get active.
“It is an extremely positive environment, there’s a lot of joy here which we hope to share with the families who come along to our Open Day,“ adds Margaret.
Sessions for the Open Day are from 9am to 10am or from 3pm to 4pm, no registration is needed and everyone is welcome.
Students representatives will be ready to guide the Open Day tours, with plenty of opportunity for visitors to ask questions.
