The centre will be open to the public from 3pm to 6pm and offer a petting zoo and a sausage sizzle for guests.
This new centre is one of three the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle has opened since March bringing to five the number of centres operating under the St Nicholas Early Education banner in the Hunter region. Other centres are at Cardiff, Chisholm, Singleton and Newcastle West.
The Diocese plans to open six more centres in the next two years at an estimated cost of $15million with the Catholic Development Fund providing funding for these new centres.
The Diocese is planning to expand the total number the Hunter under the St Nicholas brand to 20 within five years.
The open day will give parents, children and members of the community a chance to explore this architecturally-designed, purpose-built centre.
