Clarence Town’s third annual River Country Hoedown has a galaxy of country stars performing at the Saturday October 27 event.

It will be held at the Clarence Town football oval with a pre-event brunch followed by the main entertainment from noon until 11pm.
Katie Bagnall, President of the Hoedown organising committee, said there’s plenty to be excited about.
“We’re very excited to be able to attract such high quality artists to Clarence Town,” she said.
“This year’s lineup is top level and we’re sure the crowd will be more than pleased.”
Ms Bagnall said the popular Ploughman’s Brunch from 10-noon was back, with entertainment showcasing local up and coming artists.
That event is sponsored by The Williams River Cafe, Kimbarra Farms and Dungog Providores.
The Hoedown’s vice-president Debbie Bruce said the hoedown promises fun for the whole family.
“Businesses within the region have again got behind the hoedown and with this support tickets are available at greatly reduced prices, making it affordable fun for the whole family,” she said.
“There’s a licensed bar, markets, food and rides for the kids, something for everyone.”
Ms Bruce said the event has generated a co-operative approach in the community.
“Once again we’ve also had fantastic community support, with a growing volunteer crew of around 50 people,” she said.
“With this and community displays by Boomerang Bags, Clarence Town Museum and The Donkey Sanctuary we’re able to showcase to our visitors and the broader community just how beautiful Clarence Town is.”
Performers include Sara Storer, Adam Eckerlsey Band, Kirsty Lee Akers, Bill Chambers, Matt Joe Gow, 24 Hours, Blake O’Connor and Chelsea Rowlings and Georgie Darr.
Sara Storer took out two gongs at the Country Music Awards of Australia in 2017 including the highly coveted Female Artist of the Year Award, taking her career tally to 21 Golden Guitars.
Kirsty Lee Akers is proud of her indigenous heritage as a woman of the Wonnarua people.
She has embraced a global musical culture and now spends her time between Australia and the USA.
Whilst she lives in Nashville for a large portion of the year, she readily acknowledges Australia will always be her spiritual home.
