The Hitmen lost to competition newcomers Lake Mac Attack and Central Coast Rush in their two fixtures at Harker Oval.
They have pride and a chance to deny reigning Regional Big Bash champions Newcastle Blasters a spot in the semi-finals to play for in their final game of the series.
A venue and date for the match has yet to be decided, but the Hitmen would love nothing better than to get their first win against the Blasters in the fourth year of the competition.
Lake Mac Attack restricted the Hitment to just 8-86 from their 20 overs in the first match on Sunday and triumphed by four wickets reaching the target in 15.4 overs.
Logan Smith top scored with 32, which included three fours and a six. Isaac Barry was the best of Hunter’s bowlers with 2-10 off two overs.
The Central Rush made 4-170 and then comfortably accounted for the Hitmen dismissing them for 106.
Josh Tuckwell (29) and skipper Dan Willis (28) were the only Hitmen batsman to reach double figures in the run chase.
Paceman Tim Baker was the best of the Hitmen’s bowlers taking 2-22 from his four overs.
