It may not sound like something to shout about, but events like hers are making a difference in the lives of everyday Australians and their families.
For 10 years, the Leukemia Foundation has encouraged interested participants to show their UGLY (Understanding Generous and Likeable You) side.
On Sunday, Miss Pinner will join her fellow U.G.L.Y. Bartenders and raise money and awareness for the foundation.
All are invited to join her on Sunday at the Family Hotel Maitland for an afternoon of fun for a good cause.
This is the Hunter woman’s second year organising an UGLY bartender event, after losing her Nan to the disease.
“People host the events at pubs to try to raise money for care, housing, and hospital costs,” she said.
“It’s a good event and raises awareness and gets the community together.
“It helps people in need and a lot of them are going through a really tough time and don’t have the support so, it’s good to show them people care.”
There will be plenty on offer, including a raffle and barbecue, an afternoon of children’s activities, and the UGLY Bar tender challenge.
Country music star Troy Kemp is sure to entertain when he performs from 4pm.
All are welcome to attend from 3pm to 6.30pm. All proceeds will support the Leukemia Foundation.
For more information about the event, contact the Family Hotel Maitland on 4020 1210.
