Maitland Council will hold a mattress muster from 8.30am to 12pm at the Council Depot Carpark at East Maitland.
Council has received more than 6000 mattresses in ten musters since October 2014. More than 1800 vehicles have also brought in mattresses since November 2016.
Maitland Council development and environment manager David Simm said participating in the muster would ensure components of old mattresses were recycled instead of being disposed of to landfill.
“This is an opportunity for residents to do their bit for the environment by simply recycling something they might not use anymore, all free of charge,” Mr Simm said.
Each household in the LGA can recycle up to four mattresses. Proof of residence will be required at drop-off.
