Saturday’s storm caused perhaps the most havoc, with wind gusts of up to 56 kilometres per hour – the highest of the month so far.
The Maitland SES unit received four calls for assistance on Saturday and another on Sunday. Three were in Maitland and the other pair in Cessnock.
Trees fell in Louth Park, Maitland CBD and Rutherford, two of which were struck by lightning.
But before the storm, there were sunny skies over Maitland with the mercury peaking at 31 degrees – also the highest for October so far.
The wild weather follows another storm on Thursday which produced hail stones in parts of Maitland.
