Among the 18 breweries pouring into Maitland Gaol for the event will be Hunter Beer Co, who have been taking part in the festival since its inception.
For head brewer Keith Grice, the craft beer festival is his “favourite festival of the year”.
“We like to share the love locally. The move to Maitland Gaol has created an amazing atmosphere,” he said.
“We not only take along our regular beers but we try to brew something new for the festival.”
The Pokolbin micro-brewery has developed two new beers specially for the festival including the dark Stone the Crows and fruity Super Happy Fun Times.
Indie favourites Cloud Control and Last Dinosaurs were announced as the musical headliners for the event earlier this year, alongside them will be local and regional support acts.
Maitland Council events coordinator Adam Franks said ticket sales had been strong with the Saturday program already booked out.
“We still have tickets for Sunday, which is traditionally the more family friendly and relaxed day of the festival,” he said.
“We try to mix up the offerings every year with different breweries and entertainment. The festival is in its 12th year … at the time there weren’t many craft beer events in the region.”
The festival will return on the weekend of November 3 and 4 at Maitland Gaol.
