Andrew Milos, who runs Newcastle Comedy, will bring three top comedians along – American Al Del Bene, Australia’s Marty Bright and Ruven Ovender, an Indonesian-born New Zealander.
“They’re all brilliantly funny guys, it will be a great night, lots of laughter,” Mr Milos said.

“Beyond Blue is a good cause. Like everyone, comedians suffer from mental health issues too.
“I don’t think there would be too many people who don’t have a family member, a friend or a colleague who hasn’t been affected, directly or indirectly, by mental health issues at some stage.”
This is the third time the Family has hosted a comedy night with Mr Milos, but the first time it has been a fundraiser.
“We’re delighted to be back. It’s a good setting - not too big which gives it that sense of intimacy,” he said.
“Certainly the comedians who have performed there have enjoyed it every time.”
The comedians are well credentialled.
“Al De Bene, for example, was named Comedian of the Year at the Los Angeles Comedy Awards,” Mr Milos said.
“Ruben sold out at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the biggest arts show in the world.
“Marty has been big in Melbourne for years.
“These are top guys, well known and very funny.”
Tickets are $20 at the Big Dog Pod Facebook page, or at the door (if still available).
