Paterson and Tenambit Morpeth Bulls blasted out of the blocks to win their opening two games in the top tier of the combined Maitland Twenty 20 competition in blisteringly hot conditions last Saturday.

The two teams meet at Morpeth Oval in the second of today’s double-headers after Paterson meet Kurri Westorn first up at Black Hill and the Bulls host Raymond Terrace.
In the other round three fixture City United play Port Stephens at Louth Park.
In the round four games Kurri Weston play the Pythons at Black Hill and City United take on Raymond Terrace at Louth Park.
Teams from the one-day competition and grades three to five in the grade competition are competing together in the Twenty20 format.
Lat week, A-grade team Paterson had wins against 3rd grade side Raymond Terrace and A-grade rivals Port Stephens in double headers in the T20 3rd grade fixtures.
Paterson posted 9/114 against Raymond Terrace, but their bowlers were up to the task and restricted the Lions to 8/75.
They had a comfortable nine-wicket win against Port Stephens making 1/84 on 15.2 overs.
The Bulls (9/104) defeated Port Stephens (8/103) by just one run in a thrilling round one encounter and then took just nine overs to record a seven-wicket win against City United after restricting them to 8/79.
City United also lost to Kurri Weston falling 97 runs short of the Warriors 4/184 in round one.
Raymond Terrace bounced back from their round one loss to win a thriller against Kurri Weston.
The Lions restricted the Warriors to 8/85 from their 20 overs and then made 9/91 in reply with five balls to spare.
In T20 Grade 4, SMR, Northern Suburbs and Western Suburbs all go into next week’s fixtures with unbeaten reords.
In T20 Grade 5, Raworth Rabbitohs and Bowthorne both recorded two wins from two games to head their group.
There was a rare tie in the T20 Grade six game between Thornton and Tarro with both teams making 73. Rutherford and Paterson both take unbeaten records into next week’s games.
In T20 Grade 7, Belmore and Northern Suburbs both had two wins. SMR forfeited its two games.
There are double headers in all grades next Saturday. The first game starts at noon and second is scheduled for 3.30pm.
The following week grades three to five have single rounds with grades six and seven having double headers.
The semi-finals and finals are on Saturday, Feburary 2.
