Jones took four wickets and made 37 with the bat as Paterson completed their Maitland Twenty20 campaign undefeated with a six-wicket win against Raymond Terrace.
Paterson set up their win with a fine performance in the field putting the clamps on the Lions batsmen with regular wickets and dismissing them in the 20th over for 69.
Braydon Brooks provided the bulk of Raymond Terrace’s runs making 33 before being caught off Jones.
Under-16 Tallon Gear was the only other Lion to reach double figures making 10 before he was dismissed by Russell Presland.
Paterson skipper Dean Bridges led the pressure in the field creating the first of three run outs in the Lions innings.
Bridges and Rigby Vane-Wood put the clamps on the Terrace run-rate and Vane-Wood cashed in with the wickets of Troy and Tyler Gear to go with three from Paterson’s semi-final win.
Defending just 69 runs, Terrace’s had to make early inroads into the Paterson batting line-up and Levi Abbott struck first dismissing Russell Presland for eight with the score on 23.
Brad Bidner was out for just one caught by Ben Maytom off the bowling of Brooks, but Jones was doing too much damage at the other end.
Abbott eventually had Jones caught on the boundary and Nathan Mudd was out for 13, leaving Daniel Agland to hit the winning runs and seal the win.
Bridges said the win was a great way to finish off a tremendous tournament.
“Bringing the one-day competition and lower grades together for the competition is a great concept,” he said.
“I think we’ve all enjoyed the opportunity to play different teams.”
Paterson 7/125 defeated Tenambit Morpeth 83 in the semi-final at SMR and the Lions 6/125 accounted for Kurri Weston in the other semi at Somerset Park.
In 4th grade, Northern Suburbs upset the previously unbeaten South Maitland Railway in their semi-final to set up a grand final against Seaham, who defeated Western Suburbs in the other semi-final.
In an even batting performance Seaham made 4/131 in the grand final with Cameron McLean top scoring in an anchor role with 33, Joshua Benhard 28, Michael Akerman 19 and Mitchell Freeman and Chris Nicholas not out of 28 and 11 respectively.
Norths were all out for 91 in reply, with Akerman taking 3-14 and Andrew Nicholas (2-10) and Ed Meredith (2-13) picking up a brace each.
Port Stephens took out the 5th grade T20 title after restricting Tenambit Morpeth Gold to 9/125 and making 5/129 off 18 overs in reply.
An even batting performance saw Thornton win the 6th Grade title. Thornton batted first and posted 6/133 and restricted Eastern Suburbs to 5/125 to record a nine-run win.
Old Victoria Hotel defeated Belmore in the 7th Grand grand final.
