Tilse said the squad had not been finalised and he was eager to give players from across the Pickers catchment a chance to be part of the team.
“We haven’t separated training at the moment so it’s a chance to train alongside some of the senior players and get a taste of what’s involved,” he said.
“The under-19s won the premiership last year and some of those boys are still eligible at the level. But you need a strong squad with plenty of numbers to win premierships.
“The club is very conscious of giving our young players the best grounding we can and to give them pathways into the senior ranks.
“It’s a transition time for many of the boys on whether they play all-age footy or make the move into the Newcastle Rugby League.
“We’d love young players to come down and see whether this is where they want to take their footy. It’s a great club, there’s great facilities and plenty of opportunities to be part of something big.”
Any prospective players interested in moving up to under-19s can contact Tilse via his social media accounts.
Training is Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm.
