However, the not-profit organisation is desperately calling for generous individuals to roll up their sleeves and donate a few hours of their time.
Volunteer coordinator Jenny Fullford said the centre was in need of volunteers for a number of activities to help ease the load.
"The Maitland Neighbourhood Centre offers many services for the community. Unfortunately, we are in need of more volunteers for several of those services," she said.
"Particularly, we need help with three of our social groups which provide a meal for people during the weekend."
The Rutherford-based facility provides the three sessions every week, which consist of breakfast on Wednesday and Thursday, as well as a dinner on Thursday.
"The people that we have had were wonderful but they've either gained paid employment or have other commitments," Ms Fullford.

"We need reserves so people we can just call and they will come and help out."
Volunteers would be required to help with preparing and serving meals, plus cleaning up afterwards.
"It's probably about only a two-hour period. It's not a gourmet meal, just a simple and nourishing meal," Ms Fullford said.
"A lot of people love to volunteer to give back to the community.
"There are a lot of positives. It's also a social element because they connect with the people they are helping, and those people are so grateful.
"We get anywhere from 30 to 40 people per session, and it's growing every week."
Ms Fullford added the centre had other services that desperately needed volunteers for its OzHarvest program and garage sale.
But if that isn't enough, the centre also provides emergency relief, justice of the peace services and fortnightly session with Centrelink.
"We are becoming a bit of a hub for those services to connect with people because this is a safe place," Ms Fullford said.
