NNSWF has identified that the costs associated with becoming a referee for the first time are a huge barrier for potential referees, particularly young referees.
Thanks to the support of Umbro, Football Federation Australia and the local Member Zones, NNSWF has launched an all-inclusive, heavily subsidised starter package for first-time referees.
“The game’s participation, particularly among females continues to boom and it is vital that we have enough referees to officiate the ever-increasing number of competitive fixtures,” NNSWF CEO David Eland said
“The New Referee Starter Pack significantly reduces the costs associated with becoming a referee for the first time. NNSWF is confident that initiative will encourage more young players to have a crack at being a match official.
“NNSWF has bundled accreditation, registration, uniform and accessories into the all-inclusive New Referee Starter Pack for the heavily subsidised cost of just $100. It’s now much cheaper for aspiring match officials to get on the park and start earning pocket money."
The starter pack includes enrolment in a Level 4 Referee Course including one at Club Maitland City on March 10.
