I think there's a lot of people who will be happy to see Bunnings expand its already huge facility
- Ben Whiting
Councillors unanimously backed the $18.42 million expansion of Bunnings warehouse based at Telarah on Tuesday, which will create an additional 130 car parks and 40 jobs.
"I think there's a lot of people who will be happy to see Bunnings expand its already huge facility," Labor councillor Ben Whiting said.
"Bunnings is a large employer and any expansion will bring more job so I look forward to it proceeding."
The plan will see an increase the retail floor area from 12,551m2 to 18,058m2 and also a new right hand turn protected access point from Bungaree Street to reduce traffic congestion.
The expanded building will be part of the nationwide expansion program for Bunnings.
The extra 130 car parks will take the total number of car parks to 418 and the additional 40 jobs will push the Bungaree Street store’s employment count to 200.
