Paterson will face an in-form SMR in next week's preliminary finals. SMR smashed their way into form finishing on 3/219 and then dismissing Raworth Rabbitohs for just 43.
Steven Walters claimed 7/13 and made 43 not out in a man of the match performance. Sam Biddles also finished on 43 not out and David Seers made 64.
Paterson lost the toss in Sunday's rescheduled fixture and were bundled out for just 88. Port Stephens made 2/91 in reply.
Seaham booked their place in the B-grade grand final with a five-wicket win against Port Stephens.
Seaham dismissed Port for 102 with Mick Akerman 3/12 and Andrew Nicholas 3/20 the best of the bowlers.
Port will face Tenambit Morpeth Bulls in the preliminary finals after the Bulls posted 5/146 to defeat Hinton 8/139.

Bulls and Lions into grand final
Tenambit Morpeth Bulls will meet Raymond Terrace Lions in the Maitland 2nd grade cricket grand final after wins against City United and Kurri Weston respectively.
The Bulls made 62 but bowled City United out for 42 at Jack Collins Oval on Sunday.
Raymond Terrace defeated Kurri Weston by five runs in a thriller at Coronation Oval. Terrace were out for 173 in the 48th over and dismissed the Warriors for 168 in the 42nd.
The Bulls and Lions will meet at Robins Oval in the two-day final on Saturday and Sunday.
Minor premiers Kurri Weston progressed to the 3rd grade grand final after their semi-final againts Temabit Morpeth Bulls was washed out.
The Warriors will meet Raymond Terrace in the grand final after Terrace defeated City United by 66 runs. The Lions made 7/152 and dismissed City for 86.
Raymond Terrace progressed to the fourth grade grand final after a draw with Kurri Weston. They face Western Suburbs who defeated Tenambit Morpeth Green.
Northern Suburbs advance to the 5th grade grand final after drawing with City. They play Thornton who beat Western Suburbs.
