Now with nearly 1200 members on the group's Facebook page, they are hoping to see more attend their monthly meetings.
One of the group's leaders Henry Meskauskas said everybody was welcome and there were many benefits to joining the discussion.
"The police attend meetings and give a statistics report of what's happened in the past month in the area and answer questions on any matter you have concerns with," he said.
"We've had wins in speeding, wins with a few of the drugs peddling around the area and wins with graffiti some of the time."
Cr Meskauskas said working together to keep other people and the police informed was important.
"If you see something, say something," he said.
The next neighbourhood watch meeting will be at Club Maitland City Bowling Club Wednesday at 7pm. To report an incident, contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
