The Blacks ran in nine tries to three in what coach Matt Thomas described as a far better performance than week one's nail-biting win against Wanderers.
"Things started to click, it's still not all comfortable with everything but it's a lot better than it was," Thomas said.
"Our line-out was sensational with Travis Brooke highlighting that.
"We put a lot of pressure on their line-out and disrupted about 60 per cent of their ball.
"We are not going to get that every match, but it was tremendous.
"We had a lapse of about 15 minutes in which they scored a couple of quick tries in the second half .
"A lot better performance overall but still a long way to go. The jigsaw pieces are falling into place but it's nowhere near complete."
Thomas said handling errors and the breakdown were still areas which needed work.
"We still struggled with our own handling errors. Some basic handling errors really cost us," he said.
"For the second week we struggled at the breakdown. We talked about it but we just weren't confident over the ball.
"We weren't strong enough over the ball. It's normally a strength, we are working on it but it's just not there are the moment.
"Our strengths were that we started playing a lot flatter attack instead of being so deep and instead of going wide initially, we went through the middle and then wide.
"A lot better performance generally.
"I wouldn't take too much out of it as they were perhaps a little bit weaker side, but I'll definitely take the win."
Thomas said apart from Brooke, Travis Brooke, Harry Chapman, Marcus Christensen and James Hawkins all had strong games,
Josh McCormack earned the three Anderson Medal points, scoring a try and landing five of nine conversions and a penalty goal.
The competition takes a break for Easter and then Blacks host Merewether at Marcelling Park on April 27 before a bye.
"We've got Easter off, Merewether then a bye. It sucks in terms of continuity. Merewether will be a lot tougher game," Thomas said.
"We're going to be stretched Josh McCormack's out, Phil Bradford's out. so we've got a bit of work to do in a couple of positions.
