The match will be the Magpies first game at home this season, on what coach Mick Bolch described as probably the best playing surface in the NPL competition.
Maitland's rounds two and four games against Valentine and Lambton Jaffas were both rained-out and they have not used the ground for the past two weeks while rye grass was sewn to ensure a strong winter-covering.
"It is looking fantastic, they've had done a great job with the grass it has become one of the best playing surfaces in the competition," Bolch said.
Bolch said after a delayed start to the season with a bye in the first round and two washed out games, Maitland were ready to launch into their season.
The Magpies collected their first win on Saturday, with a hard-fought 2-0 result on the road against Charlestown City Blues.
Joel Wood claimed a double with a penalty, courtesy of challenging run into the box by Matt Thompson, just before half-time and then he pounced on a wonderful cross from Ryan Clarke in the 90th minute.
Wood's finishing and the lead-in work by Clarke and Thompson delighted Bolch, but he was most excited by his side's first clean sheet for the season.
"Joel was very good for us. Matt Thompson had his best game of the year for us. He worked tirelessly and was very dangerous going forward.
"Clarkey only played the final 20 minutes of the game, but his pace created all sorts of problems. His effort to cross the ball to Joel for the final goal was just vintage Clarkey, he just willed himself onto the ball and made something from nothing.
"We played well in the first half and created three or four clear cut chances which we needed to be more clinical with, but their keeper made a few good saves.
"We put together some really good passages of play, but I was most pleased with our defensive efforts.
"We spoke during the week about trying to nullify their front three of Goodchild, Smith and Ferguson and though they created a few chances, it was satisfying to get the clean sheet."
Bolch expects another huge challenge in Edgeworth but is delighted with the way his side is progressing into the season.
Kick off is at 2.30pm.
