We all know the sort of things we're talking about. They're not willing to start at the bottom, they want everything now, they won't get their noses out of their iphones, they lack respect ...
But say what you will, when they have a mate in trouble, they rally around.
And today's front page picture is a perfect example. The way the students of All Saints College jumped in to support their schoolmate Patrick Wheeler who was diagnosed with liver cancer was truly inspirational.
The Year 12 student is in Sydney receiving treatment at Westmead hospital, and a group of his mates thought they would like to help.
So 14 kids from All Saints decided to shave their heads - and some other friends from outside the school joined in too. Suddenly there were 20 young people walking around town with shaved heads.
And while we're at it, hats off to the three staff members of RNB Hair and Beauty who donated their time to transform the group.
A Go Fund Me page set up with the hope of raising a thousand dollars was another step. At last count - and it may be even higher by the time you read this - the $1000 mark was surpassed on the first day and the total now sits at more than $17,500.

But the story doesn't stop there.
Knowing the family would be spending a lot of time in Sydney supporting Patrick, the schoolmates also pitched in, finding time to mow the family's lawn.
A little thing, true, but one that would make such a difference to a family whose lives have suddenly been turned upside down.
Little wonder school principal Tim Cleary and Head of School Marc Romano (pictured) are justifiably proud of their students' empathy and goodwill.
"We are very proud of these boys, they have initiated this and they are standing up for one of their mates who is in a time of need," Mr Romano said.
"They are showing real leadership and real camaraderie, we are really proud of them. They have brought the community together - parents, teachers, friends, everyone has come together and it's wonderful to see."
As a community we should be proud of them too. We salute you, guys.
