The parade began in the Church Street car park and made its way through to Maitland Park for the annual Anzac Day service.
A very grateful mayor address those present at the event.
Cr Loretta Baker said she was "absolutely overwhelmed by the representation" by members of the public.
"We must never forget [the Anzacs'] sacrifice," she said.
"I am heartened and assured by the number of people here that we never will."
Miss Maitland Tamieka Lupinski spoke on behalf of Maitland's youth.
"The Anzac spirit demonstrates courage, bravery, endurance, mateship, determination and sacrifice," she said.
"These values that our servicemen and women showed are still important to this day in defining Australia as a nation."
Ms Lupinski also highlighted the significance of animals in the Anzac story.
"I for one as a strong lover for animals and, in particular, horses, cannot forget also about the mounted soldiers - more well known as lighthorsemen - and their horses who played a huge role in our wars to defend Australia," she said.
