Maitland City Council has approved an application from Cattleyard Promotions to temporarily close some streets surrounding the Maitland Showground to ensure safe movement of pedestrians and traffic associated with the Groovin the Moo music festival.

Between 8am on Saturday, April 27, and 12pm Sunday, April 28, there will be several temporary road closures.
These are Anzac Street - from Cracknell Lane to Blomfield Street; Blomfield Street - from Anzac Street to Devonshire Street; Gipps Street - from Blomfield Street to carpark area; Smith Street - from Blomfield Street to carpark area; Rose Street - from Cross Street to Blomfield Street; Park Street - from Louth Park Road to Elgin Street; Elgin Street - 300m south of Walker Street to Park Street; and Evans Street.
Some roads will be converted to a one way flow.
There will be no vehicle access within the temporary road closures with the dedicated event drop off and pick up zone located at Maitland Train Station carpark. High Street Railway Station will be closed during this event.
Parking for privately-chartered buses will be located in a separate parking area, under traffic control, just off Park Street between Gipps and Smith Streets - ingress via Walker Street and Elgin Street only.
All bus movements on Park Street will be eastbound only with egress via Louth Park Road andTrappaud Road.
