Club spokesperson Irene Hemsorth said the club, which trains at Queens Wharf at Morpeth, was indebted to Maitland City Council for their recent community grant of $1500.
The club has had a busy start of the year, with success at the Chinese New Year Lunar Festival at Darling Harbour and more recently club member Mikki Aram part of the silver medalist 20s Senior A Mixed 500 metres team and the bronze medallist in the Open Men's 10s 500m team at the National Dragon Boat Championships held over Easter in Canberra.
This weekend 20 members will compete in the 200 metre races at Urunga on Sunday, with some hoping to paddle in the 7.5km marathon on the Saturday if positions on teams are available.
