According to Barrington Tops Snow Chasers' Rob Balint, there is a 'borderline' chance of some snow activity.
"The moisture has increased but the temperatures are very borderline so we have more chance expecting sleet then snow," he said.
While potential snowfall is a very exciting prospect, Mr Balint would like to remind people to be sensible and safe in their hunt for snow.
"We don't want too many people rushing in just to be disappointed if nothing does fall," he said.
"The window will be small and not much will fall, for example, dusting.
"The main safety message is that it will be rather icy up in the Tops so keep your car down to a steady pace and drive to the condition also bring plenty of food and water enough for everyone for a few days.
"How it stands at the moment, Scone police and National parks will have a zero tolerance to people doing silly things in the Tops this year.
"If anyone is injured or hurt this year they will reevaluate when they close the gates limiting everyone's access to the tops during snow events."
