That's the scenario when top quality boxing will be held under the dome at East Cessnock Bowling Club, with local boy O'Meley defending his NSW Junior Middleweight title over eight rounds against the highly credentialled Isaac Buckley.
On a bumper program, the lead up fights will include bouts for the vacant Australian Middleweight and Super Lightweight titles.
The one certainty is that O'Meley, who is unbeaten in eight professional fights, will be facing his most dangerous opponent to date.
Buckley is a significantly bigger man - in fact in his desire to take the Junior Middleweight title, he has had to drop seven kilos from his natural fighting weight.
How that will impact on him will be a key factor.
"There is going to be a very big size difference in the ring," promoter Rob Fogarty, from Steel City Boxing, admits. "Buckley has a height and reach advantage, and his upper-torso is massive."
Fogarty is hoping for a crowd of between 600 and 800.
"It's a top program. Two Aussie titles, a state title, I don't think it's ever been done in Cessnock before."
A tip?
"You couldn't favour either fighter with any confidence, it is so evenly matched."
He said the middleweight title was equally competitive.
