The win was one of two awards presented to the talented designer last week at the Museums Australasia Multimedia and Publication Design Awards (MAPDA).
She took out the gong for her exhibition catalogue design 'Jumaadi | Staging Love'.
The awards were established to celebrate excellence and quality in design of publications and multimedia produced for the museums sector.
Manager Gallery and Libraries, Keryl Collard said the award is a wonderful recognition of Clare's work for Maitland Regional Art Gallery.
"Winning a national award which is hotly contested by galleries and museums throughout Australia and New Zealand is a great testament to the design skill that Clare brings to all of her work at the gallery," Ms Collard said.
Award judges described the 'Jumaadi | Staging Love' catalogue as a 'delightfully imaginative and a charming design, beautifully printed and encouraging exploration.'
Clare was also recognised in the Exhibition Catalogue (Major) category, with her 'The Rosemary Valadon | Textures of Desire' catalogue awarded highly commended.
