After Saturday's matches, each of the seven teams will have played each other once and all teams will have had the bye.
The game that looks set to make the most difference to the ladder will be between fourth-placed Club Maitland City and fifth-placed Nexus Power Comets.
Unless Customs House Hotel (currently third) cause a major upset over the undefeated Hills Solicitors or second-placed Hinton Hotel go down to the George Tavern (currently sixth), a win for Maitland City should see them jump back up into third place on the ladder.
A win for the Comets probably won't result in a ladder promotion for the Coalfields side based on goal difference, but it will put them back in the mix with the top teams.
Club Maitland City have finished third the past two seasons - a position they won't want to relinquish this year.
And they could even potentially do one better. CMC only went down to Hinton by six goals back in round 4, so they could still be a contender for a grand final berth.
The Comets have suffered a few injuries in the past couple of games, but skipper Kiona Sunerton said they were trying to take confidence out of the few wins they've had this season after coming up from A2.
"We still feel like we are able to compete with the experienced A1 teams," she said.
"Playing a quality team like CMC this week we hope to do the same, but we know it will be difficult.
Sunerton said her side's aim was to keep in touch with the top four in the run to the finals.
"As a new team, the more games we get under our belt the better we will be as a unit," she said.
Meanwhile, last placed Tolsaf Cranes will have to wait at least another week to notch up their first win as they have the bye.
