The association will send teams to Campbelltown to compete in division two of the under 15s, under 17s and open competitions from Saturday to Monday.

Maitland Netball president Kim Starkey believes the teams should all perform well, but has the highest hopes for the under 15s based on last year's results.

"They came fourth in division two last year, so I'm hoping for similar or better," she said. "They've been performing really well. They've played 12 of the teams already so they've got a good idea of what they're up against."

The under 15s will take on 18 teams from around the state across the three days.

Starkey said the under 17s will also field a strong team, who should perform well if they're able to remain healthy.

"They've had a few injuries in the lead-up," she said. "But I think they can reach the top 10 - even higher if they can stay fit and healthy."

They have 19 games to contest.

For the opens, this year should be a bit more enjoyable than 2018.

The side was placed into division one - competing against the likes of Manly Warringah - despite being all under the age of 21. They came away with just one win and a draw from 16 games.

"They were meant to be in division two," Starkey said. "It was a tough call for them. They've been re-graded now and there's no reason they can't finish in the top 10."

The side is made up of local players who all compete in A1 in the association's Saturday competition.

"Some of them have been playing together for quite some time," Starkey said.

The opens have a big weekend ahead of them, with 23 games to play.
