Almost 700 entries from riders aged four to 50-plus have been received but the keenest interest will be on a highly talented group of 11 year olds from both sides of the ditch.
The Mighty 11 Tests are one of the most coveted events on the annual BMX competition calendar and are run by the club which earns the right to host the annual NSW championships.
Riders must be 11 years old at the time of the Tests which are held in New Zealand and NSW each year.
Five girls and five boys will represent their countries in the teams events, which points awarded on placings in races on Sunday.
Competition is on Saturday and Sunday, however, there will be a special opening ceremony on Sunday featuring a haka by the New Zealand competitors and a special Aboriginal dance presentation in response.
Maitland BMX spokesman Darren Muncaster said the BMXtreme Carnival was an associate event of the NSW titles which will be held in Maitland from October 4-6.
"Earning a spot in the Mighty 11 Tests is one of the highest honours for young riders coming up through the ranks," he said.
