Utility Hayden Grainger has been named at lock in the one major change for the crunch game against Western Suburbs at Harker Oval on Sunday.

The Pickers face a fired up Rosellas, who will be smarting after last week's upset loss to Cessnock.

Grainger, who was rested last week after a second head knock, is the first player to return from a long list of injuries at the Pickers.

Joint skipper Sam Anderson, whose injured foot was still in a boot last week, is likely to return in two to three weeks.

However fellow forward Jacob Sinclair, who also has a fracture in his foot, is expected to be a month away.

Others sidelined with injury include Shay Padberg with a fractured cheekbone, Tyler Perrin (rib injury) and Marco Delapena, while Gary Anderson and Elijah Rasiga are unavailable due to Newcastle Knights commitments.

The Pickers have won their past two games on the back of strong defensive efforts and will be looking for another strong effort against Wests, who smashed them 42-0 at Maitland Sportsground in round three.

The other two Coalfields teams Kurri Kurri and Cessnock meet in a top-five showdown at Kurri Kurri Sportsground on Saturday.

Both teams are backing up after wins and both have players under injury spotlight.

The Bulldogs have named Newcastle and NSW Pioneers representative Mitch Cullen after he underwent scans this week on a suspected broken foot.

"We're not quite sure [of the damage] yet, we're hoping it's just deep bruising but it could be a broken foot," Griffith said of Cullen's injury.

"It would be devastating for us to lose him because we are already struggling a bit around the middle."

The Bulldogs will be without prop Jordan Mitchell, who picked up a hamstring injury in his first carry last start and looks set for a six-to-seven week stint on the sidelines.

"That's definitely a long-term one," Griffiths said.

Kurri playmaker Jade Porter (knee) resumed "full sprinting" at training on Tuesday but Griffiths doesn't expect the experienced campaigner back until July 7.

Cessnock has named all three players under injury clouds to play.

Harry O'Brien (shoulder) and Josh Charles (hand) were both rated a "50-50" chance of playing by coach Todd Edwards.

Marvin Filipo (hamstring) has been named in the team but it would be no surprise if he was a late withdrawal.
