About 10am Monday, police were called to bushland south of Telarah train station, after reports a body had been found.
Police said while the body was yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing man, who was last seen on June 24.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
INITIAL REPORT
Train services have been suspended between Maitland and Telarah after a body was found near Telarah train station.
A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the train station at about 11am on Monday, following reports about the body.
The person is yet to be formally identified.
Train services between Maitland and Telarah were suspended following the incident, with trains being replaced by buses.
It is unknown how long the diversions will be in place.
