Members were sad to bid farewell to Mr Maitland Milton Morris - a prominent branch member and patron who had supported the group for more than three decades.
Now Norm Burton and Hilton Grugeon have been named as patrons of the sub-branch.
"Both Mr Burton and Mr Grugeon are leaders in our community and it is fantastic that they have agreed to serve as Patrons of the sub-Branch," president Stephen Grimmer said.
"They both have a long association with the sub-Branch and we very much look forward to continuing this association and working with Mr Burton and Mr Grugeon in meeting our goal of supporting veterans and their families, who reside in our community."
The Sub-Branch meets on the second Monday of the month at the East Maitland War Memorial Centre from 7pm. It is also open every second Saturday morning between 9am and noon for a coffee and chat. It's next open morning is on Saturday, July 20.
"Why not drop in on a Saturday for a coffee and have a chat. You never know you might enjoy it. While membership of the RSL is open to those that have served six months in the Australian Defence Force, I encourage people to consider joining, however, it is important that everyone understands that you do not need to be a member to obtain support," Mr Grimmer said.
