Taylor's of Maitland proprietor Carolyn Taylor said it was a hard decision.
"We have been here in 10 years in August. It's our anniversary on the festival weekend," she said.
"I moved to the Central Coast two years ago, and I have opened a second store down there. An opportunity came to expand a bit down there and I live there - so it makes sense.
"I figured with our 10-year anniversary, it was a good time."
Since its inception, Taylor's of Maitland has become one of the city's institutions.
The store features coastal and french farmhouse furniture with an extensive range of soft furnishings, stylish mirrors and wall art, rugs, lamps and other classic decor for the home.
We are sorry to be going but it 10 years has been a pleasure and privilege. We've had people from all over - Sydney, Lake Macquarie, Singleton Tamworth, Score, Armidale and Newcastle

Ms Taylor said the community's response about the store relocating has been overwhelming.
"We've had nearly 6000 hits and 200 beautiful messages. It has been awesome," she said.
"We are sorry to be going but 10 years has been a pleasure and privilege. We've had people from all over - Sydney, Lake Macquarie, Singleton, Tamworth, Scone, Armidale and Newcastle.
"We've had the great privilege to meet a lot of people, and they've also mentioned on Facebook that they want to come visit us on the Central Coast."
Over the last decade, Taylor's of Maitland has occupied one of the city's most historic buildings on the corner of High and Elgin Streets - which was built in 1885.
"I walked down the Mall and saw it. Then I dreamed about having this space," Ms Taylor said.
"We took the whole building over. We had three shops running at one stage. It's been an absolutely amazing opportunity but we have relocated to another historic building. We've had an amazing run."
For the next few weeks, the store will be offering 30 per cent off. The new store, Taylor's Fine Living, can be found at the Railway Square Shops, Wyong.
