The club was an offshoot of the Maitland International Salon of Photography, once one of the most prestigious Salon competitions anywhere in the world.
"We're a very old club with a wonderful history," club president Brad Le Brocque said.
"Our members cover all types of photography ... from baby pictures to wildlife, portraits, landscapes, you name it. The idea is for people to come along, work out what type of photography they prefer, and then buddy up with someone who shares the same interest.
"We have monthly competitions and we also have regular workshops. One month our competition will be open, and then next month it will have a theme.
"We want to get our members out into the community and taking pictures.
"We always invite a highly credentialled guest judge to adjudicate."
Le Brocque stresses that the Camera Club's doors are open to potential new members.
"It's free to come along and I would encourage interested photographers to do so.
"It's fun and you can learn how to make the most of your photographer at the same time."
See the gallery below for the club's August competition winners that had the theme of "contrast".
