He bought a box of fresh lemons, a bunch of flowers and a few other things. It was the least he could do given the hardship farmers west of the city were facing.
It was one of several generous donations.
Slow Food Hunter Valley volunteer Tony Milburn said that was the beauty of people in this area - they were always very generous when it came to helping the people who produce our food.

Slow Food Hunter Valley volunteers will take 40 boxes to Gundy today.
The not-for-profit group bought some of the food from Maitland farmers and donations from backyard growers helped to fill up the rest.
The CWA will then distribute them to the farmers who are most in need.
"The farmers really appreciate the box and because everything is so fresh it gives them food for a couple of weeks," assistant leader Liz Griffiths said.
Anyone with excess fresh produce can drop it into the Slow Food stand at the Slow Food Earth Market Maitland in The Levee on Thursday at 12 noon.
